Book a Free Care Assessment in Cambridge

A visit at your kitchen table, at a time that suits you. Free, and with no obligation to arrange anything.

An assessment is simply a conversation in your own home. We meet the person who might need support, listen to how the day currently works, look at the practical details, and explain honestly what would help. You decide afterwards, in your own time.

Request Your Visit

Choose a day and time that suits you and we will confirm by phone. Tell us a little about the situation and we will come prepared.

We do not offer bookable slots online, because visits depend on coordinator availability and geography. We collect your preferences and confirm a time by phone.

What Actually Happens

  • We listen first

You tell us what is going on, what is becoming difficult and what worries you most. There is no form we work through at you.

  • We look at the practical detail

The bathroom, the stairs, the bedroom, the kitchen, the door. Small things determine what is realistic.

  • We talk about the person, not the tasks

Their routine, their preferences, what they still do themselves and want to keep doing.

  • We explain the options

Which services would fit, what each involves, and roughly what it would cost. Including options that are not us.

  • We cover funding

Whether the local authority or NHS might contribute, and where to go to ask.

  • You get it in writing

A plan and a quote afterwards, so you can read it properly and talk it over as a family.

What an Assessment Is Not

It is not a sales visit. Nobody will ask you to sign anything, and we do not use pressure or time limited offers, which have no place in care.

It is also not a local authority Care Act assessment. That is a separate process run by Cambridgeshire County Council and it determines whether you qualify for funded support. We are happy to explain how the two fit together, and you can do both.

Nothing to Prepare, But These Help

You do not need to get anything ready. If it is easy though, these make the conversation quicker.

  • A rough idea of which parts of the day are hardest
  • Any equipment already in the home, such as a frame, a rail or a hoist
  • Names of the GP surgery and any professionals already involved
  • Whether anyone has already had a local authority assessment
  • Any preferences the person feels strongly about, including a female or male carer

Who Should Be There

The person who might need care, wherever possible, because it is their life being discussed and their preferences that matter most.

Beyond that, whoever they want. A spouse, an adult child, a neighbour, an advocate. Family members who live away can join by video call, and we would rather do that than have someone relay it all secondhand afterwards.

If your relative is reluctant, tell us when you book. We will treat it as a conversation rather than an assessment and let them set the pace.

What Happens Afterwards

  1. 1

    A written plan and quote

Sent to you, setting out what we suggest and what it costs.

  2. 2

    Your time to think

Talk it over. Ask us anything. Compare us with someone else if you want to.

  3. 3

    If you go ahead

We agree start dates, match a carer and introduce them before the first working visit wherever possible.

  4. 4

    If you do not

That is completely fine. We will not chase you, and you are welcome to come back later.
